Terms of Service

Welcome to BatchCorner. These terms define the foundation of mutual trust, fair competition, and intellectual freedom that empowers our campus builders, hackathon organizers, and mentors.

Effective Date: March 2026
Version 2.0
Student Builders Retain 100% IP

You Own Your Code

You retain 100% intellectual property rights to everything you build, design, or pitch at hackathons.

Zero Plagiarism

Strict fair-play policies require authentic, original work built during the hackathon timeline.

Inclusive Culture

Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct across online and campus spaces.

Verified Credentials

SmartPass credentials are non-transferable, ensuring authentic check-in and merit-based awards.

01

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "Student", "Builder", "Organizer", or "Mentor") and BatchCorner ("we", "our", or "us").

By visiting, signing up for the waitlist, entering a hackathon, accessing our SmartPass ecosystem, or utilizing any feature of BatchCorner, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the platform.

02

Eligibility & Student Accounts

BatchCorner is built specifically for college, university, and technical institute students, as well as recent graduates, educators, organizers, and industry mentors.

  • Accurate Representation: You agree to provide authentic, verifiable academic affiliation data (college name, branch, graduation year).
  • Account Confidentiality: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any access tokens or links.
  • Single Identity: Creating fake duplicate profiles or automated bot registrations is strictly prohibited and subject to permanent bans.
03

Community Code of Conduct & Fair Play

BatchCorner is a collaborative sanctuary for builders. We enforce an uncompromising standard of mutual respect:

Prohibited Behaviors

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, gender, disability, or background.
  • Academic dishonesty, impersonation, or submitting work built by uncredited third parties.
  • Spamming community channels with commercial solicitations, scams, or malicious links.
  • Any attempt to reverse-engineer, DDoS, or exploit vulnerabilities in the BatchCorner platform.

Violations result in immediate disqualification from active events and exclusion from the BatchCorner network.

04

Hackathon Rules & Original Work

When competing in hackathons managed or hosted through BatchCorner Hackathon OS:

Original Code Requirement

All project code, designs, and prototypes must be produced during the official hackathon timeframe, unless otherwise explicitly permitted by organizer track rules.

Open-Source Attribution

Use of open-source libraries, APIs, or foundational boilerplates is welcomed provided they are clearly cited and credited in the project submission README.

Jury HUD & Evaluation Authority: Hackathon winners are selected by designated panels of judges and industry mentors. The scoring outcomes and determinations of the jury are final and binding.

05

SmartPass, Rewards & Prizes

SmartPass Authenticity: Your BatchCorner SmartPass is a non-transferable, verifiable digital pass. Selling, scalping, or forging access passes for campus hackathons violates these Terms and voids your event registration.

Prize Disbursement: Bounties, cash rewards, swags, and developer credits awarded during competitions are distributed according to the specific event's organizer terms. Recipients must be verifiable students in good standing and comply with applicable tax regulations.

06

Intellectual Property & Ownership

Golden Rule: You own 100% of your creations.

BatchCorner does not take any ownership, equity, or copyright in student projects, code repositories, pitch decks, patentable inventions, or business ideas created during hackathons or on the platform.

Limited Showcase License: By submitting a project to a BatchCorner showcase or hackathon leaderboard, you grant BatchCorner a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display your project name, demo video, screenshots, and team credits strictly for marketing, hall of fame showcases, and community promotion.

BatchCorner Platform IP: The BatchCorner name, logo, Hackathon OS software, UI designs, and digital assets remain the exclusive intellectual property of BatchCorner.

07

Campus Representative Program

Students selected as BatchCorner Campus Representatives act as official student ambassadors for their college or university.

  • Brand Representation: Campus Reps must represent BatchCorner ethically, truthfully, and professionally at campus orientations and tech club meetups.
  • No Misrepresentation: Reps do not have the legal authority to enter into financial binding contracts or make commitments on behalf of BatchCorner without prior written approval.
  • Program Standing: BatchCorner reserves the right to revoke representative standing if conduct fails to meet our student community standards.
08

AI Matching & Assisted Tools

BatchCorner offers AI-assisted matchmaking to connect hackers, designers, and mentors. These tools are provided to assist you, but the final choice of teammate collaboration, project commitment, and team dynamics rests entirely with each student participant.

09

Mentorship & Expert Sessions

Mentors volunteer their time to guide student builders. Feedback provided during office hours or code reviews constitutes informational advice, not legal, architectural, or financial guarantees. You are encouraged to verify recommendations independently.

10

Third-Party Links & Services

BatchCorner interfaces with third-party platforms (including WhatsApp communities, GitHub repositories, Discord servers, and Google Forms). We are not responsible for the availability, content, or privacy policies of those independent third-party services.

11

Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any user account or community group without prior notice if we identify severe violations of our Code of Conduct, hackathon fraud, illegal activities, or deliberate interference with other participants.

12

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE BATCHCORNER PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

IN NO EVENT SHALL BATCHCORNER, ITS FOUNDERS, DIRECTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, OR LOSS OF HACKATHON REWARDS RESULTING FROM HARDWARE OUTAGES OR THIRD-PARTY DELAYS.

13

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

14

Modifications & Legal Inquiries

We may update these Terms as new features, hackathon systems, and partner opportunities launch. Continuous use of BatchCorner after changes take effect indicates acceptance.
